3 cousins, 3 sets of twins!!!
So a few days after Ella finished up school, my cousin Dawn and her fam came into town from Colorado. I can't tell you how good it was to see her.. Growing up, our families were so close, we spent 5 if not 6 days a week together. Our parents were best friends, not just family. We literally grew up together, and my fondest memories of childhood in Big Bear include my cousins, and my Aunt Theresa and Uncle Charlie. Dawn was the oldest, only by a few years, but when you're kids, that's major seniority. She loved being "teacher" and bossed us around and taught us all sorts of interesting things on her black board upstairs. It's no surprise that she's a homeschooling extraordinaire. In fact, they were coming through town on their way to a home school convention that Dawn was speaking at. Dawn and Scott's oldest, Conner, is just a doll. He has such a sensitive heart and Charlie really loved him, which says a lot. Mitchy also loved him but for ulterior motives, the all mighty iphone. By the end of their visit Mitch knew how to turn it on, swipe his little finger across the screen in an attempt to start "angry birds" and actually added "iphone" to his vocabulary. Conner is also an amazing musician {actually all 3 of them are} and plays the piano so beautifully, I'm jealous. I snuck up on him with the video camera and got a little snipit of a piece he composed. They also have twins, and Collin and Caileigh were just as sweet and played so well with my kids and my sister's kids. They offered to help me cook, take out the trash, helped love on the babies ~ such great examples of the kind of children we all hope to have. Scott actually tolerates all of us which makes him pretty awesome to begin with, but we just fell in love with him, what a great guy. He fit right in, which may not be much of a compliment:) My parents drove all the way here just for the day to see them before they left, so we had a mini family reunion. We basically spent every waking moment together, and I think we all just soaked it in ~ it's been too long. Aside from her super long brown hair and Bambi eyes, I've always loved the sound of Dawn's laugh. I just loved hearing it while they were here, it made my heart happy. We miss you guys, we'll see you at Yellowstone!
