Random Acts of Cuteness

Some random pictures of the past month or 2, just everyday moments with the little people I love so, so much. Nothing special happening, but I guess that's what makes them so special...

Over the river and through the woods...

We went to Grams and Gramps so the kids could see the animals and have a little farm yard fun. The drive over there always reminds me of our old house. Todd and I lived on 10 acres up north for the first 8 years of our marriage, and we pass right by our old stomping grounds on the way to Grandma's. It's such a pretty drive and makes me miss our horses and the seclusion of our little place in the woods. The first order of business was to get a huckleberry cone at my favorite little stop out that way. When we got to Grams and Gramps house we paid a visit to Swifty the cow. He wasn't really impressed with us, so we spent most of our time trying to bribe him with oats and handfulls of grass, roots and all. I think Ella and Charlie would be on cloud 9 if we lived on a farm, rolling in the dirt all day, living off the land - literally in some cases. Next stop: pigs, Lenny and Louise to be exact. Man, they don't call pigs "pigs" for nothin', I've forgotten how stinky those creatures are. No wonder Dave and I are the only ones that got up close and personal with our pigs back home. They kept doing a reverse snort and spraying muddy snot all over us, it was hilarious. We made our way to the chicken coop, and they get the award for being the only thing stinkier than pigs. They weren't tiny, cute little chicks anymore, they were in the awkward teen phase. The chickens don't have names though, I guess there's too many to name, but I can think of several - nugget, tender, BBQ, marinated, roasted...The kids finished out the visit by climbing up the fort (with Dad, I'm paranoid when my kids do the things I did when I was younger) and swinging on the tire swing. I sat with the babies on the grass (it was actually warm and sunny that day, a huge shock) and just soaked up some vitamin D. When we loaded up, right next to our car was a Mommy turkey and about 10 tiny babies waddling behind her. Ahhh, nothing like country living. Todd always says to me "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl."

I liked 'em so much...

....I bought 'em again. I fell in love with these puppy jammies a few months ago and bought the 12 month size for the end of winter. And I just love anything with puppies, and the puppies are even orange and blue - my favorite colors, and I think that all of my boys, including Todd, look great in white. So...I bought the 18 month ones for these annoying cold evenings. Seriously, it's almost June, where the heck is summer?

~HaPpY that Todd is home from Utah~

~hApPy that I finally got most of my plants potted. They've been giving me the evil eye from the confines of their tiny, pathetic plastic containers all week~

~hApPy that there's yummy homemade banana cream pudding in the fridge, but not for long...~

~ HaPpY that I made Ella hApPy by having a tea party with her on the patio~

~SO HaPpY that Todd is home (did I already say that?)~
