Our insurance company put us up in a hotel all week while the crew refinished the wood floors that needed to be repaired from our leaky roof. We got a super great rate at an awesome hotel in town, so we were really grateful for that. We had some fun times - we played in the pool, which Dawson really loved (he wound up jumping off the side into Todd's arms by the end of the week), the kids and I got fries and Coke one day in the hotel cafe, we made good use of the microwave popcorn I'd brought from home and ate it in bed, along with the cookies my friend Tara made us, a definite no-no at home. The kids had fun looking at the fish pond in the foyer 400 times a day, and our favorite daily activity was visiting the candy store for a little sweet treat followed again by walking around the hotel at looking at those blankety-blank fish. It was definitely tough being stuck in a hotel room all week, it's not like we were on vacation and could keep busy sight-seeing all day and just land at the hotel for bed time. Thank goodness for friends that let us hang out at their house so we didn't go completely nuts. No naps for Big D, each of us sleeping with a wiggle worm, just trying to eat was even interesting with no kitchen, no table, no where to go but staring at the walls for hours on end. I kept thinking that maybe we should've put this off until it was warm out so we could've at least spent time at the park or taking walks. Needless to say we were all happy to get back home, even if it was a complete disaster after having a work crew here, but we made some great memories - always good times when the whole family is confined to one room for 5 days!

Oh boy! I feel your pain! We had that problem, too but we didn't have neat fish to look at. We had ear infections and sore throats, so we couldn't even swim in the pool!
Glad you made it through all in one piece!
