Aaron is A+

Aaron was up visiting at the end of August. We'd hoped to see him more but he wound up working through the Summer at Camp Arnold leading some of their backpacking excursions, so he didn't have much time off. But we got to celebrate his birthday together, he picked chicken enchiladas and key lime pie for his birthday meal, pretty typical:)  The kids loved playing with him, he's a bit of a celebrity around here and his lap is never free. Todd and I tried to have a normal conversation with him {key word tried} amongst the chaos that is our life:) I figured that it was time to pass on his memory box to him, so Todd and I had fun looking through some of his old "treasures" before he came up. Lots of baseball cards, Star Wars figurines, cards and notes, a homemade trebuchet, yearbooks, his "lucky" keeper gloves from highschool soccer, and the best find of all, his Panda bear lamp. This hideous thing has been around forever, Todd said it was in Aaron's nursery. It's a stuffed animal that's been impaled by a lamp and he had it in his room until he moved out. Every time I updated his room he still wanted to keep it, so cute. So it was fun to see his reaction when we uncovered it. Hopefully he won't use it in his house, but I have a bad feeling...Aaron is doing great working as a music teacher and coaching soccer, and he's very involved with his church, doing outreaches and even speaking here and there. He absolutely loves his kids and has really turned their music program around, he is so talented and passionate and is the kind of teacher every kid hopes to have ~ fun, inspiring, great sense of humor, even handsome;) But the parents love him too because he means business and truly cares. He got a new place that just happens to be directly above a Curves for Women, so we had a good laugh about that. Not sure if that was as coincidental as he would like us to believe. He's been taking kick-boxing classes and is really cut, so Todd had to do a little chest puffing to make sure Aaron knew that Dad still has bigger pecks. Sigh... the testosterone just drips off  the walls around here. Thank goodness Ella and I can handle boys in droves. Actually, it's a pretty good life, what girl wouldn't want to be surrounded by cute boys all day everyday?!
